Welcome to the Science Department

Shree Ram College, Rampur — a premier institution situated in the rural heartland of western Odisha — was established in 1979. Responding to growing local demand for science education, the Faculty of Science was introduced in the academic session 1981–82. The Higher Secondary (+2) courses commenced in 1983–84, followed by the introduction of the three-year undergraduate (+3) degree course in Science under Sambalpur University in 1991–92. In alignment with the CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) pattern, Chemistry Honours was added to the curriculum in the academic year 2016–17. The department is currently supported by a dedicated and well-qualified staff, and is equipped with two laboratories — one for Higher Secondary students and the other for Undergraduate courses.
